RyanAckerman.JPG Ryan Ackerman, PE, President/CEO

Ryan Ackerman has over ten years of experience including project management, design and construction engineering, and land surveying. Ryan's technical expertise and passion lies in the area of water resources. Most notably, Ryan has led the Ackerman-Estvold team members involved in the large scale Mouse River Flood Protection Plan project while also serving as the local public communications spokesperson, all to help his community, and the communities he serves, recover from the devastating 2011 flood. In 2010, Ryan was acknowledged by Business Watch Magazine as one of their Top 40 Professionals Under 40 in the state of North Dakota. Ryan is married to Jessica and they have two children. He enjoys spending time hunting, playing hockey, curling, playing softball and enjoying time with his family at the lake. Ryan serves his community and his industry through mentorship opportunities related to engineering for the Boy Scouts of America, Science Olympiad, and the STEMazing Design Challenge.

RollyAckerman.JPG Rolly Ackerman, PLS, Vice President
Rolly Ackerman has nearly 40 years of experience conducting land and construction surveying, and also serves as the President of Ackerman Surveying & Associates, Inc., which he founded in 1982. Rolly's leadership and involvement with the planning  and construction of numerous projects in the area has been crucial to the growth and development of northwestern North Dakota. In 2003, the ND Society of Professional Land Surveyors recognized his efforts by awarding him their Surveying Excellence Award. Rolly is married to Vicki, and they have four children and ten grandchildren. He enjoys hunting and pontoon rides with his grandkids. Rolly serves his industry as a board member and past chairman of the North Dakota Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and as a member and Past President of the North Dakota Society of Professional Land Surveyors.

JeffMcElwain.JPG Jeff McElwain, EIT, Vice President

Jeff McElwain has over 25 years of experience in the field of design and construction engineering, with an emphasis in the design and construction of site improvements. As the Vice President-Construction, Jeff's primary role is overseeing the construction engineering team members and projects. Jeff is married to Holly and they have one child. Jeff serves his community as an active member of the Minot Y's Men's Rodeo Club, and a coach for the area youth baseball program.

SteveEberle.jpg Steve Eberle, PE, Vice President/COO

Steve Eberle has been a team member with Ackerman-Estvold since the organization was founded. He has over ten years of experience in the field of design and construction engineering, starting his career as a Project Engineer and advancing himself to the role of Project Manager. Steve has significant experience with City of Minot projects, including large-scale transportation projects, storm water management plans, grading, water and sewer, and street improvement plans for numerous residential subdivisions and site development projects. Steve is married to Sally and they have two children.

SeanWeeks.JPG Sean Weeks, PE, LEED AP, Vice President

Sean Weeks has over 15 years of experience, including nine years operating his own civil engineering firm in Florida. Sean joined Ackerman-Estvold in January of 2011 as a Project Manager. His specialty lies in the area of land development for private clients. Sean also has been integral in guiding our municipal clients in their growth management plans during the unprecedented growth that northwestern North Dakota has recently experienced. Sean is married to Liz and they have two children.

Dennis Deutsch, Vice President

Dennis Deutsch has been involved in all aspects of the architecture industry for nearly 40 years. In 2001, Dennis became the co-founder of ABC Building Concepts, LLC, in Williston, ND. In 2013, ABC merged with Ackerman-Estvold where Dennis currently serves as Vice President, and leads the Architectural division of the organization. He has played an integral role in the industry in western North Dakota and eastern Montana for almost 40 years. During that time Dennis has overseen numerous projects including schools, churches, emergency services facilities, maintenance shops, office buildings, medical and wellness facilities, and a number of Williston State College projects. Dennis and his wife Debra also farm near the Plaza area.

Patrick Samson, PE, Vice President

Patrick Samson has over ten years of civil engineering experience, with a focus on land development and municipal engineering. He began his civil engineering career in 2001 after graduating from the University of North Dakota. Patrick spent 10 years working in Chicago and Wisconsin before returning to North Dakota in 2012 to join the Ackerman-Estvold team. Since arriving in Minot, Patrick has been involved in a number of critical development projects to help grow the region including several new schools and school additions. Patrick and his wife Mary have twin boys.

Tim Arens, PE, Vice President

Tim Arens has more than ten years of civil engineering experience, specializing in transportation and construction. Following his graduation from North Dakota State University in 2003, Tim began his career at the Missouri Department of Transportation working in the traffic and construction divisions. Since joining Ackerman-Estvold in 2011, Tim has led the transportation team in the design and construction of several large roadway and bridge projects throughout western North Dakota. Tim and his wife Nicole have one son.
