Minot's 55th Street open to through traffic

With underground work complete, 55th Street in Minot is open to through traffic. The road remains part of an active construction zone for the 55th Street Northeast Bypass Project, with the posted speed limit at 25 MPH.

The road was closed over the past three weeks to allow for crews from Ames Construction to finish installing water and sewer lines, as well as a new storm sewer.

Construction companies continue to work in both areas of the project, building the bridge and widening the bypass road. Due to this work, there will be intermittent closures. Traffic is encouraged to take appropriate detours as signage on the project directs.

The City of Minot, Ward County and the North Dakota Department of Transportation are all partners in the 55th Street Northeast Bypass project.

As a reminder, the driving public is encouraged to exercise extra caution throughout the construction zone to ensure their safety and the safety of the crews.

Weekly public information meetings will be held for the 55th Street project at Winfield Solutions, 525 55th St SE, each Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. The public is encouraged to visit, email or to contact the public information coordinator Brekka Kramer at 701.720.5798 for more information.
